Let's Encrypt SSL Certificate Error (NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID)

This Odoo technical development blog is my way to contribute back to the Odoo Community, for all the selfless and great sharing by the community members.

Recently, my Odoo users complaining that the Google Chrome browser gave the error message "NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID", even though the Let's Encrypt certificate has been auto-renewed by the system. The most puzzling is that some users are affected, and some are not.

Finally, the culprit was discovered and it is because those affected users are using Windows 7, which has stopped the security update.

Solution: Download the file below and remove the extension 'txt'. Run it to update the registry and reboot the PC.
